3.1 Phillip Lim

Before I left for Vegas I stopped by Shoefty and picked up a new purse. Michael hooked me up and I walked out with this 3.1 Phillip Lim purse. I've been wanting a new purse for work and I had my eye on this one since the first time I saw it. Since I carry so much crap in my purse I wanted something with lots of room and no discernible logos(not a fan of status bags). I also didn't want another black purse/bag. I want to be able to use my purse for years and years without it feeling dated. BTW, I'm in love with anything Phillip Lim makes. It's very fresh and modern. It's pieces that you'll put away and bring back in 10 years.
Cochon
I forgot to mention that before I left for Vegas my friend Michael and I went to Couchon in the Warehouse District. It's high end cajun restaurant by Donald Link. He's also got Herbsaint which is pretty good. A friend of mine was a bartender there. It was really good. One of the things we tried was rabbit dumplings. As all of you know I'm a huge rabbit fan and their dumplings did not disappoint. Their boudin balls were just as good too. Check it out. http://www.cochonrestaurant.com/
NBA playoffs
So I was driving home from work on Friday afternoon after working for a couple of hours since I didn't get home from Vegas til 2:00am that day and one of my favorite clients called me to ask if I wanted playoff tickets to the Hornets vs. Mavericks. Of course I was hell yeah. As I was driving over to his office I thought that the tickets were going to be crappy seats but when I got my hands on them I saw that they were freakin great seats. We were in the sixteen row which are phenomenal seats. Anyway, I invited my friend Mark. Ladies remember he is still free and available. Check out his website to see his work. http://www.markrosenbohm.com He's very talented. I just ordered the creole cottage canvas. Anyway we had lots of fun cheering on the Hornets and CP3. I never really thought much of Chris Paul until last night. He and David West are incredible. CP3 for MVP. We grabbed a drink at my favorite bar, Roberts. It's the cheapest place in town to drink I think. It's not really a dive bar but more like a college locals kind of place. Great jukebox. Here's some pics of the game and me with my 40K smile(I'll tell you that story later).

Updates
Sorry that I haven't posted lately. I left town on the 11th and was on the road(Jackson, MS) on Monday and Tuesday so I ran out of time to update my blog. I will be updating it later with pictures of Las Vegas. Although it is work I did manage to have some fun with my friend Robin who meet me out there for a couple of days. Anyway I'm back and I'll probably hibernate this weekend to fully recover from my allergies. XOXO

FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS TAYLOR!

Today is my Godchild's 15th birthday. Although I won't be there for her birthday or party I have sent her a little present for her special day. It's present in a lil blue box. I have also planned a trip for her and her cousin who is turning fifteen next month. We are going to NYC. Happy Birthday, Taylor Baby.
Friday Update
So spring is upon us. It's really beautiful here in New Orleans. The temperature is just right. New Orleans is perfect in the fall and spring. It's sunny and warm. Winter isn't bad here either except when the temperature drops becasue the humidity makes it feel much colder. Since the weather has officially changed I decided to put all my winter clothes away and par down my winter wardrobe. I'm getting better at getting rid of clothes but it is not easy for me. I think I have some pack ratishness. Anyway, I brought out my summer clothes and I'll probably go through my closet this wknd and par it down a bit also. I've got to get ready for Vegas and all.

To Do List
Ok, looks like I accomplished some of my list.
1. Picked up my shoes at the cobbler and left another three pairs to get repaired. Some crazy reason I am very hard on my shoes so me and Mr. Jimmy are on a first name basis. He doesn't even make me leave deposits anymore. It also helps that I make him a care package every Christmas with lots of treats. Note to self, no more black shoes. I picked up two pairs of shoes that were black and dropped off three more black pairs.
2. Picked up my alterations and dropped off some more. I've been using this new guy and he's fabulous. Language is still an issue(Vietnamese) but he gets it done. He's also fabulous with repairing the holes Gato puts in my sweaters. Long story but it involves him humping and moaning. I've slowly being altering my clothes that doesn't fit exactly right. I'm a petite and alot of my clothes is standard size. Ok, I'm a larger petite but petite means short not just tiny/small.
3. Went to Barnes and Noble with Randy to pick up some books for the Priestley Charter School. I bought two books for them and a bunch for me. The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros and Confederacy of Dunces. The House on Mango Street is one of my favorite books. It reminds me when my sisters and my parents sat around the kitchen table and tried to read it out loud. It didn't last long and lots of comedic relief. We should so have a sitcom based on me and my sisters. BTW, Philleppa Gregory has a new book or at least one I haven't read. The Boleyn Inheritance. And I still haven't seen the Other Boleyn Sister movie.
4. Nap-Well I wanted to walk down to the local park to walk around the monthly craft festival but I put my head down and napped for about a hour and half. That's pretty good Saturday afternoon nap.
5. I did work on cleaning up my mail and bills. Cancelled some stuff(after seeing bills) that I didn't need and straightened up my mail mess. Now all I need is a nice looking shredder.

My new hair product
I just bought an 1 1/2" round curling iron and I love it. It gives my hair more of relaxed wind blown look than my smaller 1" curling iron. I'm totally loving it and it gives me another hair repertoire besides the straight and curls look I've been rocking the last couple of years. Post pictures later.
Current Mood-Restless
I'm sooo bored at work. Nothing going on right now. SLOW as molasses. Can't wait to get out of her and start my weekend. Lots and lots of plans for my time. Check it out.
TO DO LIST
1. Pick up alterations and drop off new stuff to be altered
2. Pick up shoes at cobbler(shoe guy) and drop off new shoes to be repaired/fixed.
3. Buy mulch and new flowers for my flowerbed. Don't know if I'll get around to planting and mulching my flowerbed.
4. Wash my car maybe even get it waxed. It's a hot mess. I'd say hot tranny mess but don't know if that works. Project Runway anyone?
5. CLEAN my house. I'm a slob and it needs to be cleaned. Maybe I should hire a maid. But than I'd have to direct her as what to do and I might as well do it myself right?
6. Thrift Store shopping- I'm going early since I want to beat people to the punch. Going with my friend Randy if I can convince him to get up early.
7. Schedule an hair appointment for next week or even Saturday. Need a bang touchup.
8. Go to Barnes and Noble and buy some books for Priestley.
9. Afternoon nap- No Saturday is complete without taking my nap after running my errands.
10. Organize my mail especially bills.

New Purchases

Ok, every year I go to Las Vegas for a convention and I like to freshen up my wardrobe at that time. I always like to look cute and stylish since it is a male dominated industry. I want to stand out. Last Thursday I went by my favorite store/boutique Shoefty for an after hours event. Champagne was being served which is a very good sales tactic. Michael and Sarah always have the absolute cutest things. Fortunately or unfortunately for me they never have my size but this time I did happen to find two amazing pieces I loved. Check them out. The dress is by 3.1 Philip Lim and the pants are from Rag & Bone. I have to have the pants altered but the dress fits great and it shows off my sun-kissed legs. The pants are high waisted and it's as far as I'm going with that style. Michael wants me to buy these yellow Loefflar Randall yellow shoes but I'm kind of undecided. Yellow is the color of optimism though. They were having a sale so I got a good discount. I ended up buying some jewelry and this obnoxious workout bag. It's a Y-3 Sequins Bowling Bag. I needed a new workout bag and I got a great deal.Wednesday, March 26, 2008
Foul not Fowl
Ok, I feel like my brain is starting to atrophy from working at this place. Need to read more books.
