Why I love New York

I wasn't going to post anymore about my trip to New York but a couple of things came up. First of all some dumb store clerk at the SoHo#1 H&M store left the theft deterrent tag on. The funny thing is H&M usually have serious security so how did I leave the store with the tag still on the dress. Now that I'm thousands of miles away from the nearest H&M store what am I supposed to do. Well, Bryan said he'd take it to the mall and see if he could get someone to take it off. :) What a sweetheart. Anyway, the other thing was about this cool little Indian restuarant called Milam. It's probably like 12 ft wide and maybe 35 feet deep and packed full of tables and the ceiling is loaded down with all kind of lights, beach balls and crazy Xmas like decorations. Everytime I'm in the city Nicky and I and friends end up eating there. It's run by people from Bangladesh and the food is cheap and yummy. The best part of the dinner is when they sing Happy Birthday to people. I always try to describe it but I don't think I ever get the point across so I took some footage. Here it is. It's sooo funny. Posting the footage later b/c it's taking to long and I am at work. ;) I've added a pic of the ceiling. It's probably a fire hazard.

OMG! I think I've been to that same Indian restaurant in NYC! That was some of the best Indian food I've ever had and I think our tab for 4 people was like $50, including wine; this was in Summer 2001.

Patty, I don't think we know each other, but I'm a friend of Maria Cristina's and I stumbled upon your blog from Roman's page. I've got NOLA connections, too, so reading your posts brings back great memories. We hope to visit there next spring (to show our son his roots on his daddy's side), so maybe we can meet you while we're down there.
